Back in town and lacking produce

Shrimp and Feta are two of my favorite flavors. Sounds great! I'm glad you had a good trip, and welcome home :)
Lol.."It won't erase the diples"...too funny. Glad you ate your way through Greek Easter Elly. Same here...This is a lovely and easy standby dish. Hilopites are just the best!
I have never heard of hilopites, which really surprises me, for some reason. I suppose I could find them if we still lived in Michigan, but New Jersey is amazingly non-Greek. I think I've mentioned in my own blog that many diners here are run by Greek people, but there is little to no actual Greek food in them.

I would like to try this; how about ditalini?
Oh yay! The hilopites! I love it. What a lovely combination, so fresh, savory and tangy!
emily, definitely try it with the ditalini. it would be great. elbows would even work, or just some short egg noodles (hilopites are basically egg noodles). i love small pasta shapes :)

Hello Elly!

[this is good]
Hilopites might just be the cutest pasta ever. I gotta keep my eye out for that one.

I tried a variation of your pasta with steak last night - I chargrilled a load of courgettes, aubergines and peppers in the oven, then griddled some cherry tomatoes and sliced mushrooms... then cooked the steak, sliced it, and stirred it into pasta, with the veg and some low fat pesto.

Was very yummy! It was nice especially because I don't usually get the time to make a proper meal from scratch like that.

Xpistos Anesti, Elly! I really like the hilopites with the shrimp and love shrimp and feta...lots of twists & turns for the dish but the same great taste comes out.
Christos Anesti, I hope you had a lovely Easter. I must use feta more often in my dishes. This sounds delicious.
mm sounds delicious! how are those frozen basil cubes?
This sounds like a wonderful twist to an old favourite Elly:D
I hear ya on the over eating Elly! I am so food-ed out! LOL! But pasta and shrimp is a great combination! YUM!
Shrimp and feta baked with pasta sounds great!!

Glad you liked the steak pasta, runnergirl! Steak is definitely a nice change of pace in a pasta. The additional of all those veggies sounds SO good!

Cara, they're pretty good. I definitely don't think they are as good as fresh basil, not even close. But they are a little better than dried and are nice to have around for days like this.

looks delicious! i just saw the cilantro cubes at TJs but will have to be on the lookout for the basil - is the flavor decent with those?
We ran out this week, but I'm holding fast until I go to the Farmer's Market on Sat. :) Nothing like the first crop of silver queen corn on the grill :) Summer is coming whether my fat butt wants it to or not! LOL!
